Fannie Mae announced the opening of its thirteenth help center, this time in the Inland Empire area of California. The new Inland Empire Help Center works in partnership with the existing Los Angeles Help Center which has already assisted 2,320 homeowners since opening in November of 2010.
The Center was developed with cooperation from Neighborhood Partnership Housing Services, Inc., local community and elected officials, and area mortgage servicers and is available to residents in the entire Inland Empire area of California.
The Center will provide services that have been available at the other twelve Help Centers including reviewing mortgage loans with families who are behind on their mortgage or may be at-risk of foreclosure, discussing loan modification and other alternatives to foreclosure, processing their documentation and making timely decisions on any pending loan workout efforts. Services are available in both English and Spanish.
Leslie Peeler, Senior Vice President, National Servicing Organization, Fannie Mae, stated, “We want to prevent as many foreclosures as we can, which is best for the homeowner and best for the community. One of the keys in preventing foreclosure is to find a solution as early as possible, so we encourage any homeowner who is having trouble with their mortgage to reach out for help. The services we provide at our Mortgage Help Centers are absolutely free. There is no reason to pay for help in sorting through your mortgage problems.”
The center can also assist you if you’ve been a victim of fraud by fraudulent groups charging fees for modifications and foreclosure related services, and other mortgage related scams.
Free services are offered to those families who have a mortgage owned by Fannie Mae. Find out if your home is owned by Fannie Mae by going to www.fanniemae.com/loanlookup or call 1-800-7FANNIE.
If your loan is not owned by Fannie Mae, contact Neighborhood Partnership Housing Services at Tel: (800)761-6747 for assistance and advice to avoid foreclosure. You can also visit their website here.
The Mortgage Help Center is available by appointment only and customers wishing to schedule a visit should call 866-442-9409.
